Persuasive Writing - Reading Examples of Persuasive Writing
We are starting our work with persuasive writing. We will be reading several examples of effective and good (and even not-so-good) persuasive writing. As we do this, the students will look for effective characteristics of persuasive writing.
Personal Narratives
We will continue to read a variety of personal narratives and memoirs, in both fiction and non-fiction. We will also look for elements such as main idea and giving support with important details. This will be a good experience, as we get ready to write our own personal narratives.
Don't forget...at least 30 minutes a day for READING! :)

Book Suggestions for Fourth Graders
Of course, it is best for your child to read a book that is at his/her individual reading level. This will develop their fluency and strengthen their reading confidence. As you read at home, I also strongly suggest to ask your child questions about the book they are reading to help their comprehension skills.
Here are some great books for FOURTH graders that your child can read independently, aloud or you can even do as a fun read-aloud as they listen to you read at home. This is also just a fantastic website for educational support activities and ideas.
