Division
Division: We work with division patterns, estimate quotients, divide up to 3-digit dividends with a 1-digit divisor - and more! Be sure to practice division facts and fact families. This GREATLY improves success and confidence with division.
We also practice the DIVISIBILITY RULES. (These are located in the Student Planner, on the back of the multiplication chart.) These rules should be memorized.

MULTIPLICATION
We are studying Chapter 3 and then Chapters 6 and 5. They all are an introduction to and application practice with multiplication skills. In Chapter 3, the students are learning about single-digit multiplication. (5x8, 7x9, 39x7, 103x4, etc.) This is a natural transition to double-digit multiplication (23x12, 576x93, etc.)
The KEY here is to practice and become and/or remain FLUENT with the multiplication facts. Fluency = know product within 2 seconds of problem with multiplication facts.)
With DOUBLE-DIGIT multiplication, another KEY component is the process. Here is a FANTASTIC activity about the process of double-digit multiplication:
